Thanks but no thanks.

As emcee or keynote speaker, Brett prides himself on his range and willingness to make a success of any event but sometimes he says “No”.

He recently politely declined an enthusiastic prospect who wanted him to speak about men’s health at her agribusiness to mark the climax of Movember.

Brett would have made them laugh, offered some well-chosen words of advice and collected the cheque but he passed on the opportunity because the isn’t a legitimate men’s health expert.

In the past 12 months Brett has passed on emceeing, keynote speaking and training opportunities from businesses that aren’t the right match. It’s no big deal and he’s not doing anyone a favour. As he says:

”A keynote speaker or emcee owes his audience authenticity and expertise. You’ve got to want to be there and be the right person for the job. If you are just there for the money, it shows. Say ‘No thanks’ and move on - for everyone’s sake.”

Here’s what keynote speaker Brett de Hoedt is delighted to speak about.
